Press Release 10th November 2020

100 Men Who Give A Damn! to resume events this November for Galway Charities

Galway organisation, 100 Men Who Give A Damn!, is resuming its quarterly events on 19th November 2020. This event will be online to abide by current Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines.

Described as ‘Dragon’s Den for charities’, 100 Men meets every quarter but halted events since its last meeting in February due to the pandemic.

The organisation’s members invite three local charities to deliver a 5-minute pitch on why their charity needs funds. After a private vote, the winner is declared. The winning charity receives €100 from each member, potentially receiving up to €10,000. Since its inception in early 2016, 100 Men Who Give A Damn! has supported the local community by raising €127,150 for Galway charities.

100 Men also featured on RTE’s Nationwide programme last year, helping to increase membership and awareness of what the organisation does for Galway based charities.

Founder Craig Brown said, “Our committee members met last month and we all agreed the urgent need to resume operations as local charities more than ever need this crucial funding in times of such economic crisis.”

“We have had to adapt the format to make it an online event this time, as opposed to a social event. We hope that the community spirit shown by everyone in dealing with the lockdown restrictions will encourage new members to join and show benevolence toward the worthy projects been pitched”, he concluded.

The next 100 Men Who Give A Damn! event will be online via Zoom @7pm Thursday, 19th November and they are inviting Galway men to join them in voting on their next beneficiary.

Guest speaker on the night is Jeff Caselden, former Managing Director of Amazon Ireland, who will be giving a brief talk on how to effectively manage remote employees and teams.
